Climate: Jiangsu Province is situated in the climatic transition belt between the warm-temperate and subtropical zones, with a distinctive humid monsoon climate. Throughout the area, the weather is mild, with abundant rainfall and distinctive seasonal changes.
The annual average temperature is 13 °C – 16 °C (55 °F – 61 °F), ascending from northeast to southwest area. The coldest month is January, with average temperature at -1 °C – 3.3 °C (30 °F – 38 °F), and the hottest month is July, with average temperature at 26 °C – 29 °C (79 °F – 84 °F). There is abundant rainfall within the province. In spring (March-April), it gets warmer and flowers bloom. In summer (May-August) it is wet and scorching with occasional rain pours. Autumn (September to October) is the pleasant weather. In winter (December to February) temperatures fall below zero and it is cold and damp with fog and rain.

Transport: There are nine civil airports throughout the province, respectively located in cities of Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhou, Changzhou, Nantong, Yancheng, Xuzhou, Lianyungang and Rugao. Every day there are flights to major cities within the country, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Guilin, Chengdu and Guangzhou.
Nanjing Lukou Airport is an international one, besides its many domestic flights, it also has flights to and from cities including Hong Kong, Macau and Seoul. It serves as the major airport in the province, with flights to Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong, Seoul-Incheon, Frankfurt, Bangkok and Los Angeles. Other passenger airports include Changzhou Benniu Airport, SunanShuofang International Airport, Yangzhou Taizhou Airport, and Nantong Airport. Air traffic in the populated Suzhou area is often diverted to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, to which Suzhou is conveniently connected to via bus services and by expressway.
Xuzhou Guanyin Airport, YanchengNanyang Airport, and Lianyungang Baitabu Airport serve as hubs in northern Jiangsu.
