Hebei Medical University, located in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, North China Plain, was established in 1894, basically founded from the London Hospital by the British people in 1879. In 1881, it offered the medical school to cultivate the medical talents. It is one of the oldest universities in China. It consists of the original Hebei Medical College, Hebei Provincial College of Traditional Medicine and Shijiazhuang Advanced Medical College.
Currently, Hebei Medical University has become a comprehensive medical university composed of western medicine, traditional medicine, pharmacy and other subjects.

Four main subjects have been built for post-doctorate research mobiles, including Biology, Basic Medicine, Clinic Medicine and Integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine & Western Medicine. And the last one is the national-level subject.

The current enrollment is about 20,000. There are 9781 full-time students in school, 6728 adult students, and nearly 50 foreign students from South Korea and Japan and so on. Now it has been qualified to enroll students from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.

Hebei Medical University has a body of high quality teaching staff of over 7100, the faculty made up of 867 professors, senior researchers and chief physicians, 1350 associate professors. Among them, there are 1 academician of China National Engineering Research Institute, 2 candidates of the Institute and 112 experts who can enjoy the State Council Special Pay.

Climate

Climate: Hebei has a continental monsoon climate, with cold, dry winters, and hot, humid summers. Temperatures average −16 to −3 °C (3 to 27 °F) in January and 20 to 27 °C (68 to 81 °F) in July; the annual precipitation ranges from 400 to 800 mm (16 to 31 in), concentrated heavily in summer.The summers are much rainier than the winters in Hebei.

Transportation

Transport: Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport is at Zhengding County, about 21 miles (34 kilometers) northeast to the city center.
It was put into service in 1995 as the largest civil airport in Hebei Province.Shijiazhuang Airport with two terminal buildings now operates flights to over 70 domestic/international cities/areas, among which the domestic destinations include Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Hangzhou, Nanning and Xian, and the international ones include Bangkok, Cheju, Seoul, Hong Kong, Taipei, Inchon and Busan.
