Climate

Climate: Chongqing is located in the subtropical climate zone. The climate belongs to the humid sub-tropical monsoon climate. Chongqing is known as one of the “three furnaces” of the Yangtze River Delta, the other two being Wuhan and Zhejiang. It is also a foggy city. Late fall to early spring is the fog season. The average low temperature in winter is about 6 °C (43 °F). The average high temperature in summer is about 31 °C (90 °F).Most days are foggy in winter and spring.Winter is from December to February of the next year. The weather is mild and gloomy, and it seldom snows in Chongqing. The average low and high temperature in December is respectively at 7 °C (45 °F) and 12 °C (54 °F), in January at 5 °C (42 °F) and 11 °C (51 °F), and in February 7 °C (45 °F) and 12 °C (54 °F).

Transportation

Transportation: Chongqing has three civil airports in total and among them; Jiangbei International Airport is the busiest one. This airport has both international and domestic flights available.Jiangbei International Airport is roughly 13 miles (21km) to north of the downtown and is one of the largest aviation hubs in Southwest China. Flights from this airport reach 120 cities home and abroad, among which there are 83 domestic cities including all the provincial capital cities in China and 37 international cities.
